This map displays the flood hazards for the Maplewood Subdivision in Manhattan, Kansas. The dark green represents the 100-year floodplain while the light green represents the 500-year floodplain. This map would most commonly be used by a homeowners insurance agency to determine which properties are likely to suffer economic damages from flooding. This map could also be used for mitigation to minimize future economic losses.

This map represent the total dollar value of damage to the land and buildings in the 1993 Flood in Manhattan, Kansas. The map displays which parcels of land have what amount of damage. The yellow color represents the parcels of land that recieved minimal damage while the red color represents a higher value in damage. This map would be used by numerous officials and agencies to assesss the damage, allocate resources, and plan mitigation efforts.
